Mr. Genova represents the owner of a construction company in an IRS criminal investigation.

Mr. Genova represented a tax return preparer under criminal investigation by the IRS. The investigation was discontinued.

Mr. Genova represents a businessman in an IRS traditional voluntary disclosure for unfiled corporate, payroll and personal tax returns going back many years.

Mr. Genova obtained a favorable plea (no jail, no probation) for his client who was indicted for healthcare fraud by the New York County District Attorney's Office. His client's three business licenses were completely restored after rounds of hearings so that he could get on with providing for his family.

Mr. Genova represents many individuals and businesses in the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance's Voluntary Disclosure Program saving his clients hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax, interest and penalties.

Mr. Genova represents individuals in the IRS Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Initiative. This program was extended in January 2012.

Mr. Genova was able to successfully show the New York State  Department of Taxation and Finance that their $170,000 responsible person assessment against an out of state person was erroneous. The assessment was cancelled in full and the lien withdrawn. Mr. Genova also was able to get the client's funds refunded which were levied from his brokerage account.  This case had been going on for many years before Mr. Genova became involved. Mr. Genova was able to resolve it within a few months.

Mr. Genova convinced an IRS Revenue Officer to drop a responsible person assessment against an elderly man by showing he had absolutely no involvement in his son's restaurant.

Mr. Genova has obtained fair settlements with IRS Chief Counsel's office in docketed cases before the U.S. Tax Court for issues involving alimony deductions, rental real estate, penalty abatement and unfiled returns.

Mr. Genova had a $1 million dollar proposed assessment cancelled before the U.S. Tax Court by showing his client had basis in her stock sales and that the sale of her home qualified for the home sale exclusion. She had an overpayment of tax by the time he completed the case.

Mr. Genova was able to get a New York tax assessment removed by showing the tax was discharged in a 1990s bankruptcy.

Mr. Genova represents many clients before the Appeals Division of the IRS in collection and examination issues.

Mr. Genova has been successful on many occassions in getting the IRS to release wage garnishments and bank levies by filing his client's delinquent returns and offering fair collection alternatives.
